Emergency medical res-ponders are usually the first res-ponders to medical emergencies. They provide the initial medical care in emergencies and transport patients to the hospital. Res-ponders help victims of car accidents, heart attacks, strokes, gunshot wounds and knife injuries. Emergency medical res-ponders must have a high school diploma or the equivalent and complete further training.
